This book is a treasure. I couldn’t put it down…truly! I was reliving the Final in Houston last year….as well my memories, lessons, relationships, and values since being connected to Villanova as a student, alumnus, Augustinian, and Trustee—all positive!
Using the Villanova Basketball program as the venue for reflection on life is terrific! This book is a treasure of practical wisdom!
The author weaves in tradition, history, quotes from religious, civic and sports leaders, along with his personal stories, to help the reader reflect upon the values in their own life.
One quote from St. Augustine that kept coming to mind which has become a personal mantra for me, is “examine yourself constantly, without guile or flattery, let your present state always leave you dissatisfied if you want to become what you are not yet. For wherever you feel satisfaction there you will stop. Say ‘it is enough’ and you are lost. You must always look for more, walk onward, and make progress.”

I’m really enjoying the book. I just started Chapter 5, and it’s been a great read so far. So much so, that I stopped reading Foote’s Civil War series (that I had been waiting to read for decades, btw) to finish your book. I have ancestors who came over from Ireland and fought for the Union, so for me to put that to the side and focus on your book certainly bodes well for you!
I just ordered a copy for my dad.

“This is an interesting, exciting, and inspiring story about the Villanova Wildcats. Even though I am not a sports fan by any stretch of the imagination, I enjoyed it thoroughly and was inspired by it. I’m in awe of the Wildcats now!”
“Your love for Villanova Basketball really shines through in this manuscript, which makes for some engaging storytelling. The advice provided throughout, as exemplified by Coach Wright and the team of Wildcats themselves, is universally applicable and motivational.”

Loved this book – bought them for graduation and Christmas presents. While the title is Win in Your Life; the message is really about the core values that let us all lead satisfied, joyous, grateful lives. #BePositve #StayHumble #GoCats
